Rocket Recorders: Book 4
Building on the skills the students learned in Books 1,2 & 3 this enables the students to practice at home, progress at their own rate and, perhaps, be rewarded for their work.
This book adds the lows of C, Db, Eb and the highs D#, E, F, F# and G to those learned from from books 1,2 & 3.
Why so many new notes?
Because notes that are an octave higher usually have the same fingering as the lower note, except that the thumb hole is “pinched” i.e. it’s half-open; the D#’s, E’s and G’s are exactly the same fingering, apart from the “pinch”.
As the students are now learning about more notes and more complex rhythms, this has opened up the possibility of playing some more of the fantastic melodies by the greats. Once again, we have provided backing tracks to aid the students in learning the pieces, as well as giving them the opportunity to play the pieces in a more musical atmosphere.
